Typetalk and Text Direct
Typetalk and TextDirect allows you to communicate with textphone users and vice versa using a simple prefix code 18002. Hearing people do not need any equipment other than a telephone to use the Typetalk service. This section can help you make and receive calls via Typetalk and give you useful hints and tips about communication.

Relay Assist
Relay Assist provides the same facilities as TextDirect’s 18001 and 18002 access via TextDirect but with a Typetalk Relay Operator setting up the call and assisting with the conversation. Relay Assist is ideal for people who are not used to using the telephone or for hearing people who are unsure how to communicate with deaf people.

Billing and Rebate
Although there is no additional charge for using TextDirect and Typetalk Operators all callers will be charged for the call they make just like a standard telephone call. The actual charge and text rebate is dependent on the telephone service provider.
